Sad News

It has been awhile since I posted last b/c quite frankly I have been depressed.  Since my last post, we lost the baby at 8 weeks, had a D&C, and am still waiting for my body to heal.  I had the D&C on July 18th, and my body still thinks that it is pregnant.  I have not gotten my period, so we can not try to conceive until that happens.  It has been 11 weeks today, and still nothing.  You are suppose to get your period within 4-6 weeks.  Crap.  I have also been going to the doctors every week to check my HCG levels.  We are waiting until they get to 0.  I just want my body to be normal again and to have normal cycles.  Please pray that will happen within the next 5 days.  This is getting to be ridiculous, not to mention very expensive.

Told you!

What a crazy night last night! Lightning struck one of our trees in the backyard!! Crazy! Did not get one wink of sleep and to boot, had to wake up at 5:15 for the next blood test!! Phew! Needless to say after the blood test I went straight home and went to sleep. That two hour nap felt mighty good :)

Due to the storm last night, just my luck, I have no TV. SO waiting for the lab results are painstakingly slow. So out I went to Sams Club and Khols.

At 1:45 got a call and my pregnancy levels are GREAT! They more than doubled from last time :) Yipppeeee!! Praise Jesus. I am yet again OFFICIALLY PREGNANT. For some one who has gotten negative pregnancy tests for the last two years, this is really unbelievable. Thank you God.

July 8th at 8am Kevin and I get to go in for an ultrasound (this time it will be a joyous one) and hear the baby's heart beat. Please pray that I deliver to term. We really need all the prayers and support that we can get!!

Love and Blessings~

The latest...

Hello! Sorry that I have not been blogging every much. I have excuses though! This time of year for a teacher is really busy!! Anyways~ I will catch you up since the last blog:

May 16th got the dreaded period. Not such a good note…but on a better note Kevin and I did go to Carowinds. We had a great time. We got there right as the park opened up and then left a swift 3 hours later. We rode all the rides and had a great time ☺ Don’t I have a great husband ☺

May 19th! I went to the CMC Woman’s Institute Infertility Clinic and they did a vaginal ultrasound (I know too much information) and everything looked great (of course)…and they ran a whole bunch of blood work, which again was normal. Soo..the next set of directions was to take Femera and then come back in on the 26th.

May 26th! Femera was a walk in the park. Just had some minor stomach problems, but honestly that could have been from something I ate. Today was the day that I had another vaginal ultrasound. Results were that they found a minor cyst, but said that it was normal when producing lining of the uterus, and that I should not be alarmed. It was not really that big. I also had one follicle ready and that it was time for the ovradrel. They did mention that it was disappointing that I only had one follicle ready. I should have had more because I was on Femera. But, they said that one was all they needed so the ovradrel was good to go. Ovradel is an HcG shot that makes the mature follicle push out an egg…thus makes me ovulate. This is a self-injected shot. Thank you JESUS and I really do mean thank you JESUS, that I was able to get it at the Dr. office during the visit. If not, Kevin or I would have had to give me the shot in the tummy. Not good. So I was totally overjoyed when the nurse said that she was going to give it to me ☺ Praise Jesus! The shot was not that bad, I took in standing up. Maybe all those acupuncture appointments helped me with my fear of shots. Anyways~ the next set of directions was to come back tomorrow. Kevin at 8:30 for the semen analysis and wash, and me at 10:30 for the IUI.

May 27th! IUI day. Kevin was such a trooper and did what he was supposed to do. His end went fine and now I had to go in at 10:30. Kevin checked out great, they explained the IUI, and then it was time for me to lie down. The whole this was very similar to pap smear, so it really was no biggie…just sad. My journey had lead me to getting pregnant, not by making love, but by a turkey bester…lol…our God for sure had a personality ☺ The nurse told me that I should not take a pregnancies test until day 12-14 after the IUI, because the ovradrel might give it a false positive.

May 27th-June 8th! Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

June 8th! Day 13 and I took a home pregnancy test. POSITIVE! POSITIVE! I have never in the two years of this got a positive test! PRASIE JESUS! THANK YOU GOD. However, this might be a result of the shot, so we will retest tomorrow ☺

June 9th! POSITIVE POSITIVE POSITIVE!! I cannot wait. I called the doctor and she said to come in tomorrow for the pg blood test…….I am so nervous!

June 10th! Get there at 7 am and they said that they would call before lunch with the results. I was so nervous, I had diarrhea the whole day!! 1:45 she calls (that is soooo NOT lunch time) and it is POSITIVE! I am for sure pregnant and she said that my levels were good. 118. Great. Just got to know what that means! She also gave directions to come in on the 12th for another blood test to be for sure.

AND HERE WE ARE TOMORROW IS JUNE 12TH. WILL BLOG WHEN I GET BACK. I AM NOW ON SUMMER BREAK SO I SHOUD BE MUCH BETTER AT BLOGGING.

Lots of love and blessings and keep the prayers coming! Praise God.

9 am

It is here.  Got it.  That crapping thing that says "not this month".  However, God did answer prayers b/c now I can "move on", and Kevin and I can go to Carowinds.  He is feverishly mowing the lawn so that we can spend all Sat. at the park.  What a wonderful hubby.  That is kinda what we do.  The weekend after my period comes we try to do something that I would have not been able to do if I were pregnant.  Kinda makes not so much a grieving process, but a celebration (if that is at all possible).  So off to Carowinds we go!

Just an FYI:  On Monday I go for an ultrasound and a bunch of blood work.  This will tell the Dr. what is exactly going on inside.  I also start the Clomid alternative Femera.  Keep praying!

P.S: Thanks for the prayers thus far!

Day 28

Which means that I am two days late with my period.   Good news, you say?  Not so much...I have had major cramps and it feels like, every time I go to the bathroom, I am going to get me period.  And this has been happening  for the last 4 days!!  Plus, I have taken two pregnancy test.  One yesterday (one day late) and the other, the day before my period was suppose to come (day 25).  Soooo....I do not know what to think.  I pray that I am pregnant, and I know that my God is a God of Miracles, so I will continue to pray.  My Acupuncture ladies tea was suppose to make my cycle longer, so that could be it too.  I will call my doctor  if I make it to 7 days late.  So until then, I know that I serve an awesome God and that His will is THE will.  Please join me in praying that either one of the two things will happen....1) that I am pregnant or 2) that I just get the stinking period so Kevin and I can go to Carowinds this weekend (it is like Six Flags).  Love and Blessings~

The Last of the Teas

Well---I am done with the teas!!!  Praise God!  This was the last of my third round! I had to drink them for 10 days, morning and night, a month.  It was a butt load of butt tasting crap.  Praise Jesus that it is over.  This marks the end of the Eastern Medicine journey.   It is over because next month, if we are not pregnant, we are going to....drumroll please.....do artificial insemination!  In today's lingo they call it an IUI.  Any ways... this is round one of the Western medicine and I am praying for a miracle that it works.  In May I have to do one round of blood work, two ultra-sounds, one shot, and an IUI.  It is not suppose to hurt as much as the HSG, but I will feel some slight pain...but in the end I am know that it is worth it.  God is in control and it is in His timing.  I pray that this is the path that He wants me to go down in my journey to conceive.  Because so far it has not been a very fabulous journey.  God speaks  and works through problems, and I just know that He is speaking now.  Next month I will post in greater detail what this IUI entails.  Please pray!  Until next time!

The Tea

So in the last blog I mentioned that I do acupuncture for infertility...I really did not go into the specifics, but it is kinda cool.  They have doing this in China for centuries with lots of success.
I decided to do acupuncture when I found out that my health insurance does not cover infertility :(  It is just really hard to accept that we are, or that I am, infertile.  I am very regular with my period, my cycle is 27-28 days, I feel my self ovulate, and we have intercourse at all the right times.  BUT NO BABY!  So acupuncture was the next step.  I go to an older Chinese lady that specializes in infertility and she is about one hour away.  Her cost is somewhat reasonable, about $200 a month.  This is my fourth month going twice a month with no results.   I drink a HORRIBLE tea that stimulates healthy egg growth..  It is totally gross.  You have to taste it to understand.  It has every root, leaf, and herb that you can think of.  My Chinese lady makes them especially for me and they cost right around a mocha each.  I would rather have the mocha.  Although the picture does look a little like the mocha....but do not be fooled, it isn't.  If you could smell it, you would know in an instant that it is not a stinking mocha.
